What to Wear in Mexico - Part 2: Kimonos & Cover-ups
Tamara Roberts of Studio Two Photography gives some MORE great advice on
What to Wear if you're joining us in Mexico this year for the women's retreat or
maybe you just planned a get away of your own!
You know, even if you're not going away but are planning a boudoir photo shoot with Tamara
these are all good examples and inspiration for you!
Cover-ups & Kimonos
I often hear women say that putting on a bathing suit is the hardest thing they do!
So let's change that dialogue by giving you something to throw over it!
This year, think Bohemian. Think festival wear. Think fringe.
The more it moves the better, blowing in the wind, wrap it around yourself, feeling gorgeous!
So you see the two examples above?
These are just two of the many unique clothing items available to borrow when in Mexico or in the studio with Tamara!
There are more below. It's fun to see how each woman wears them!
See how one has fringe and the other one doesn't?
Just make sure if you bring your own, you don't mind it getting wet!
Here's two more! Both with fringe, both available to borrow!
One is a lovely burned out green velvet and the other a sheer black flower dream!
Wraps can be any length, but if you are purchasing your own, think about your body
and IF there is a spot you would rather not highlight
then don't have the kimono end right on that spot! Just below is good.
Same for the sleeve length; they come in short or long sleeves; some are more like a vest.
Hide your arms if you don't want to show them off.
A lovely sheer black as shown above works great for that.
You can also wear them with jeans or jean shorts.
The example above also looks great - some leggings or leather pants!
These two are the models own (so NOT available) but if you love the crochet look (on the right) or any of these looks,
do a search on Google for "kimonos for the beach" there are all sorts of lovely items for not much money!
Check out your local stores and gently used stores as well, whatever your budget will allow.
Summer items are on sale right now, so go shopping!
Remember what I said in my last blog (Part 1)
Clothing doesn't have to be perfect for photography!
You can hide all sorts of imperfections and small stains, makeup etc, it really doesn't matter.
The two images on the bottom are more examples of items you can borrow!
The red peacock with fringe and the cream coloured long sheer....
I have quite a few more I'm not showing here..... but I hope you get the idea!
